Audit your Skills.
Accounting for the national interest is not just about numbers, but it does demand a high level of numeracy. Even though we don’t look for people with maths-based degrees, we do need to be sure that you have a good head for figures. Which is why, at the first stage of the selection process, you’ll be asked to complete a test of mathematical competence.
Consisting of 30 multiple choice questions, this test is designed to assess your familiarity with, and understanding of, a number of mathematical concepts, namely:
Mathematical expressions and formulae
Algebra and manipulating formulae
Graphs
Simultaneous equations
Inequalities
We’re not trying to catch you out - we actually want you to do well. So, below we’ve provided a series of sample questions, just to give you an idea of what to expect.
Hopefully, this will help you to prepare for the real thing – and refresh your memory if you haven’t tackled these sorts of problems since before your degree.
Good Luck.
