Benefits that will really benefit you.

Our new recruits are often pleasantly surprised to discover just how generously we reward our people. Salary-wise we’re right up there with the top private sector graduate employers. And the benefits that go with it are pretty impressive too.

Salary

In London, graduates start on £25,782. In Newcastle, it’s £20,511. Both are above the market rate.

Your salary then rises throughout your training, taking into account your exam successes, to around £34,000 in London and £28,000 in Newcastle.

After qualifying, you may be offered a permanent position as one of our Audit Principals. This brings a salary of £46,139 in London and £37,399 in Newcastle.

Pension scheme

You will be enrolled into the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme from the day you join. Alternatively, you can take out a stakeholder pension called a Partnership Pension Account.

Health check

Health screening is available to all staff. The frequency of the checks will depend on your age, but if at any point you have a particular health concern, we’ll be happy to arrange an urgent appointment.

Life Assurance

We have a Group Life Scheme to complement the cover already provided under the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme.

Season ticket loans

After you’ve been with us two months, you’ll be able to get an interest-free season ticket loan.

Childcare vouchers

We offer vouchers for children aged up to eleven, with higher rates for the under-fives.

Employee assistance programme

We offer an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to all NAO employees and their immediate family. The EAP is a 24/7 365 days per year service which provides free access to a range of specialist support and information, including telephone and face to face counselling. The service provides a quick, confidential and effective way of getting assistance on how to resolve life management issues such as financial advice, family care, assistance in coping with elderly relative, legal/consumer rights and work related issues.
